Importance of Eye Exams |
|
Since the prevalence
of ocular diseases and disorders tends to increase with a
patient’s age it becomes increasingly important to receive
regular and comprehensive eye examinations and check ups.
Patients at risk include those with diabetes, hypertension
or a family history of ocular disease (e.g. glaucoma, macular
degeneration). Also at risk are those working in occupations
that are highly demanding visually or hazardous to the eyes,
those taking prescription or non prescription drugs with ocular
side effects, those wearing contact lenses or those with other
health conditions. A comprehensive adult vision examination
not only checks your prescription but also may discover the
early symptoms of some diseases and insure you get early treatment
for them.
